theres a dirty joke here. Feel free to make it and leave it as a comment.
So at the Mooneyes X-Mas Party I realized something that hot rodding and all of its branches are a culture and import tuning is a lifestyle. Stop think about it for a second. The differences are subtle but there there. Hot rodding has its own genre of music, clothing styles, and cars are past down through the generations. How dads do you know gave there sons there 73 celicas or 510′s. Go to Mooneyes there guys rollin around in their grandfathers cars and trucks. Import tuning has a broader cross section of people taking part in it. Just look at the teams from different parts of the U.S. Does the Risky Devils look like the guys from Team Miley? Um NO. There is one difference that Imports are a conglomerate of people and vehicles while hot rodding is some what set in its ways. Now this is not to say Im dogging one side or the other Im just pointing the differences of both societies. I love my old skools where there j spec tin or american iron. But there is one major difference that hot rods got right and imports can learn from. THE WOMEN. There whole teams of hot rodding women while your lucky to see one car at a show driven by a girl. Oh props to Karen and her evo for stepping up when others don’t. And the girlfriends go all out for Mooneyes. You can tell they spent time getting ready for this show, unlike most import girlfriends that look bored to tears. I know Im making generalizations but this is what ive seen. And a pin-up contest is way better then any bikini contest Ive ever seen. Just sayin.
